Under the leadership of the department head, prof. dr. Aleš Ude, our colleagues participated in a showcase of 15 state-of-the-art European robots at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The event was held on 2 September 2026 as part of the final event of the EuRobin project. prof. dr. Bojan Nemec, Boris Kuster, Matevž Majcen Horvat and dr. Matija Mavsar presented a dual-arm robotic system in Brussels, designed to perform a variety of tasks in industrial environments. The robot uses artificial intelligence, machine vision, and force sensing to adapt its movements to the objects it handles. It is particularly well suited for handling delicate objects or those whose behaviour is difficult to predict, such as cables and electronic components. To demonstrate its capabilities, the robot used a thin cable to form the letters “EU”. The event also featured robotic systems designed to assist with everyday tasks, as well as various logistics solutions, including a drone developed to deliver medicines in emergency situations.
